Maureen’s column on support services, “Youth Shall Be Served,” was published in the 2008 March/April edition of Law Firm Inc. It addressed the challenge of providing administrative support for different generations in the workplace. Her article “For Some Lawyers, Management is an Option,” (The National Law Journal, May 18, 2009) emphasized the need for lawyers to review their skills and expectations prior to moving into management positions. Maureen has spoken at national conferences and professional meetings on such topics as building competency models for development and training, managing intergenerational issues in the workplace, providing effective delivery service models, and creating the business case for change. She served on panels on re-starting careers during this economic downturn, bridging the gap from law school to law firm, and effective interviewing skills.
As Director of Human Resources for Clifford Chance US LLP, a global law firm of over 5,000, Maureen was responsible for the HR function for the Americas Region (New York and Washington, DC). She served as a member of the firm’s global Leadership Team, overseeing and directing implementation of policies, practices and procedures that impacted the working lives of the lawyers and administrative staff.
